Angie is a Registered Psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience providing individual therapy in Burlington. Danusia Gronkowski

Danusia is an Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy. With over 30 years of experience in mental health care, she provides individual therapy Burlington clients trust, specializing in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Mindfulness Groups

Our 8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy groups offer structured, evidence-based support for anxiety, depression, and stress. Research shows MBCT can reduce the risk of depressive relapse by around 50 percent. These groups run multiple times per year in person. Angie is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher and MBCT Teacher Trainer Mentor.

How do I get started?

The first step is booking a complimentary Meet and Greet. This gives you a chance to ask questions, learn about our approach, and decide if it feels like the right fit before moving forward.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Most extended health benefit plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapist services. We work with major providers including Canada Life, Manulife, Sun Life, and Green Shield. We recommend confirming your specific coverage and session limits with your provider.

Do you accept Canada Life insurance?

Yes. We accept Canada Life insurance and offer direct billing where available. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend confirming your specific benefits with your provider.

What issues do you specialize in?

We specialize in anxiety, burnout, trauma, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm—as well as patterns like harsh self-criticism, people-pleasing, overthinking, and emotional numbing. Many clients are also exploring how childhood emotional neglect or early relational wounds continue to shape their current relationships and sense of self. We primarily work with high-functioning adults navigating transitions, identity shifts, relationship challenges, or the quiet exhaustion that comes from holding everything together for too long. Our approach is trauma-informed and nervous-system-focused, helping you move out of survival mode and toward more self-trust, emotional steadiness, and intentional living.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes in length, but we also offer other options such as 75, 90 or 100 minutes.

Do you offer evening appointments?

Yes. Evening appointments are available on select days to help accommodate work and family commitments.

How much does therapy cost?

Individual 50-minute sessions are $175.. Extended sessions (75-100 minutes) are also available. Many clients use their extended health benefits to cover most or all of the cost.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. We offer a complimentary 15-minute Meet and Greet to help you decide if our approach feels like the right fit. There’s no obligation.. it’s simply a chance to ask questions and explore your options.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. We provide secure online sessions across Ontario as well as in-person sessions in Burlington.

What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), Brainspotting, somatic and nervous-system–focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. Our approach is integrative and experiential, meaning we thoughtfully combine these modalities based on your needs, goals, and nervous system. Sessions may include practical skills for managing thoughts and emotions, alongside deeper brain–body and experiential work to help shift long-standing patterns and support lasting change. In addition to weekly therapy, we offer Therapy Intensives, including half-day, full-day, and multi-day sessions, for clients who want deeper, more focused work in a shorter period of time. We also offer an evidence-based 8-week Mindfulness Training program (MBCT) designed to help you step out of autopilot and build emotional steadiness in daily life.
