Modalities We Use at Mindfulness for Health
At Mindfulness for Health, our integrative approach blends modern neuroscience with compassionate, evidence-based therapies. We use a variety of modalities to help you understand yourself more deeply, regulate your emotions, and experience real, lasting change. You do not need to know which approach is right for you before reaching out, we will help you explore what feels most natural and effective.

How Our Modalities Work Together to Support You
Each person’s path to healing is unique, which is why we create personalized plans that often combine different modalities. For example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help you build practical coping tools, while Brainspotting allows you to process deeper emotional patterns, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you reconnect with the parts of yourself that need care and understanding.
Together, these approaches support healing on every level — mind, body, and emotion. Whether you are interested in Individual Therapy , Online Therapy , Therapy Intensives , or our Mindfulness Groups , each service integrates these modalities to help you move toward calm, clarity, and lasting change.

Understanding Therapeutic Modalities
A modality is simply a type of therapeutic approach that guides how we work together. Each one offers a different path toward healing, whether through thoughts, emotions, or the body. Different approaches work best for different people and situations, and you do not need to know which one is right for you before starting.
Below, we outline the modalities we use most often. If you are looking for a specific approach not shown here, let us know and we will help you explore your options.

Brainspotting
Brainspotting helps you understand and release emotions or experiences that your mind and body have been holding onto. Sometimes we know what is bothering us, but other times the tension or discomfort feels harder to explain. Brainspotting uses eye positions connected to the brain’s emotional and memory centres to help you access and process what feels stuck, without needing to force it or find the perfect words.
As you focus on a specific point in your visual field, your brain naturally begins to work through what it has been holding. This can bring a sense of relief, clarity, and calm as your body lets go of old patterns of stress or pain. Many people find that Brainspotting helps them feel more grounded, clear-minded, and connected to themselves in a lasting way.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems, or IFS, is a gentle way to understand why you feel and react the way you do. It is based on the idea that we all have different parts within us. For example, one part might try to keep you safe, another might feel hurt, and another might push you to keep going. Sometimes these parts can feel in conflict, leaving you overwhelmed or stuck.
In IFS, you learn to get to know these parts instead of fighting them. With curiosity and compassion, you begin to understand what each part is trying to do for you. Over time, you develop a calmer, more confident sense of self, allowing you to move through life with greater clarity and balance.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and actions. It is especially helpful when you feel stuck in patterns of worry, self-doubt, or stress that seem hard to break. Together, we look at the thoughts that influence how you feel and explore more balanced, realistic ways of thinking and responding.
CBT gives you practical tools you can use in daily life to manage challenges with greater confidence. Over time, you learn to recognize unhelpful patterns more quickly and replace them with habits that support calm, focus, and emotional resilience.
