8-Week Online Mindfulness Training (MBCT)
Improving Health & Wellness through Mindfulness
Are you, or a patient of yours, looking for healthier ways to manage stress, mood and/or anxiety? This evidence-based program has been proven to reduce stress levels (including levels of cortisol), reduce anxiety, reduce depression (reduced risk of relapse by ~ 50%), increase positive emotions, train and improve attention/focus, enhance productivity, improve immune functioning, improve sleep and enhance relationships. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combines the practice of mindfulness meditation with the practical tools of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
YOu'll learn all about MBCT
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a type of psychotherapy which combines features of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with mindfulness training. It was originally designed to help people who are prone to depression and anxiety. The aim of MBCT is not directly for relaxation or happiness in and of themselves, but rather, a "freedom from the tendency to get drawn into automatic reactions to thoughts, feelings, and events".
How does MBCT work?
MBCT teaches you to pay attention to what is happening in your present moment experience - rather than worrying/ruminating about the past or the future - and to let go of negative thoughts and judgments that can send people into the downward mood spiral into a full blown depression. MBCT also emphasizes the importance of developing bodily awareness which allows you to identify the ‘early warning signs’ that depression could be looming.
What you will receive
- 8 weekly online sessions (2.5 hours/session)

The Science behind mbct
- Three randomized clinical trials of MBCT prove it reduces rates of relapse by 50% for chronic depression.
- MBCT is as effective as antidepressant medication for preventing depressive relapse or recurrence (Kuyken et al., 2015).
- MBCT is an equally effective treatment to antidepressant medication in preventing relapse in previously depressed patients (Segal et al., 2010).
Mindfulness practice produces positive changes in a variety of common difficulties or disorders such as stress, low mood, chronic sadness, depression, anxiety, bipolar, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, cancer survivors and a variety of other issues. It’s also beneficial for anyone who simply wants to live more mindfully. All participants need to have an assessment prior to acceptance.
