Mindfulness for Health Intensives

In addition to weekly therapy, we offer intensives for those looking for an accelerated path.  This offering can serve as an adjunct or an alternative to weekly therapy, providing clients with dedicated blocks of time – whether it’s a few hours or a few days – you can dive deeper and experience the transformative benefits of an intensive without interruptions. It’s an accelerated path to relief, allowing you to move forward with your life faster.

Therapy Intensives for High-Functioning Women
Break Free from Perfectionism, Anxiety, People Pleasing and Burnout

  1. Have you ever reached a critical moment in therapy only to have the clock run out, leaving you to wait until the next session to pick up the pieces? Or perhaps you’ve skipped therapy altogether because your packed schedule doesn’t accommodate weekly visits. Intensive Therapy can solve these problems — no more abruptly ending conversations, holding onto unresolved emotions, or prolonging the healing process. By setting aside a concentrated block of time — be it a few hours or several days — you can dive deeper into the therapeutic process and experience its transformative impact without interruptions. It’s a faster path to relief, helping you move forward with your life more quickly.
  2. Are you a driven, ambitious, over functioning woman who appears to have it all together — yet deep down, you struggle with worry and self-doubt, and sometimes feel stuck, exhausted and spinning your wheels? Perhaps you’re going through the motions on autopilot, having difficulty being fully present in your life roles? Are you longing for more joy? Do challenging thoughts and feelings hit you and take over? Do you find yourself constantly seeking others’ approval, fearing rejection, and feeling guilty or uneasy about setting boundaries? Despite your best efforts, it feels as though your nervous system is in constant overdrive.
  3. Maybe you’ve noticed the same confusing, unproductive patterns repeating in your life, despite every attempt to make them stop. Facing past traumas has been difficult due to lack of time or the fact that it just seems too daunting. You may have done some traditional therapy already, but it hasn’t given you the results you’re craving. If any of this resonates, our Therapy Intensives are designed just for you.

Common Struggles You May Face

People-Pleasing & Overanalyzing:

You seek constant reassurance, worry about others’ opinions, and replay interactions in your head. You’re overly accommodating to make others happy.

Fear of Rejection & Negative Judgments:

You fear letting others down and do whatever you can to avoid their disapproval — often at your own expense.

Self-Criticism, Self-Doubt & Lack of Self-Trust:

You have a hard time feeling truly proud of your accomplishments, second-guess your abilities, and wonder if compliments are genuine.

Relentless Striving:

You have unrelenting standards and push yourself to be the best to gain approval — but it never feels like enough.

Fiercely Independent:

You resist help and have a very hard time asking for help.

Exhaustion & Burnout:

You may be often on the go and may avoid alone time. You spin your wheels trying to meet everyone else’s expectations, leaving you physically and emotionally drained. You feel guilty for setting limits and boundaries with others.

Why These Patterns Run Deep

These challenges often arise from childhood experiences — moments when you couldn’t safely express your true self, when love felt conditional or you experienced abandonment, and when you didn’t receive the emotional support and guidance you needed. Over time, you learned to protect yourself by prioritizing others’ needs and pushing aside your own emotions, needs, and desires. But now, these well-worn coping strategies are starting to take their toll.

What Is a Therapy Intensive?

Therapy Intensives are unique, focused experiences designed to jumpstart your healing journey. In these extended sessions — offered in 1-day (3-hour), 2-day, or 3-day formats —we’ll work closely together to help you make meaningful breakthroughs in a shorter span of time. We cut out the check-ins as well as crisis of the week and get straight to the core of your healing journey. You can join me in person in Burlington or opt for virtual sessions, whichever suits your needs.

What You’ll Gain

Deeper Self-Awareness:

Uncover the roots of your over functioning, perfectionism, anxiety, self-doubt, people pleasing and other unhelpful habits.

Emotional Release & Relief:

Process and transform unhelpful beliefs and patterns, freeing yourself from the shame, self-criticism, perfectionism, people pleasing and guilt you’ve carried that has been blocking you from your true self-worth and self-love.

Practical Coping Strategies:

Develop healthier boundaries, learn to trust your own decisions, and replace people-pleasing with genuine self-care. Instead of denying your own needs and desires, practice self-compassion.

Lasting Transformation:

Experience a powerful jumpstart in your personal growth, paving the way for ongoing, sustainable change.

Go From Surviving to Thriving:

Live with intention, joy, and resilience — even through life’s ups and downs. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, nurturing both your mind and body, and finding daily moments of wonder and gratitude. Thriving means showing up for yourself with compassion and authenticity, trusting that each small step brings you closer to your true Self, and a more fulfilled, balanced life.

We integrate Brainspotting therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy / Parts Work in my practice to treat a wide variety of conditions

Brainspotting therapy is a powerful, focused brain-body treatment method that allows us to identify, process and release core neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain. We can access and heal unhealthy coping strategies associated with early childhood trauma or PTSD. Brainspotting helps clients move beyond trauma, focus on post traumatic growth, flourish, live abundantly, and make positive transitions.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) model is an evidence-based psychotherapy based on the idea that we each have a family of parts living with us that can be healed with our Self energy. An IFS therapist helps clients get to know the parts that protect them. The client is supported in helping those parts to relax and to separate their feelings and beliefs from the client, in order to open more space inside and access Self energy. As this happens, clients spontaneously report feeling calm, curious and compassionate towards their parts.

  1. What is the payment schedule for intensives?:
    1. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of scheduling to secure your Therapy Intensive. The other 50% is due on the day of Intensive Day 1.
  2. What is your Intensive Cancellation Policy?:
    1. There is a 2-week cancellation policy: Any cancellation within 2 weeks of The Pre-Intensive Interview will result in full charge of the intensive program.
  3. Why should I do a Therapy Intensive instead of a normal 50-minute therapy session?:
    1. Due to the nature of typical 50-minute sessions, they only allow about 30-40 minutes of deep work.  Often there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session – this doesn’t leave a lot of time for deeper work. Therapy Intensives are different and allow more focused time to go deeper and help you find relief sooner.  A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy – in a single day!  Overall, they are more efficient and for some more effective than traditional once a week therapy.
    2. Intensives are good if you’ve been in weekly therapy for a while, but an hour a week just doesn’t give you the time you need.  You may be feeling stuck, struggling with the same problem over and over again.
    3. Intensives are also perfect for clients with busy schedules who are ready to feel better now. By setting aside a block of time to focus in on a particular concern, you can expect that you will see more progress in a shorter time frame. This may ultimately mean less time in distress, less time away from work, and more time living the life you want to have.
  4. Why is the hourly rate for Intensives higher than for regular weekly sessions?:
    1. Therapy Intensives provide a focused, customized, and highly structured experience that differs from traditional weekly sessions. In an Intensive, we dedicate extended blocks of time to tackle core concerns, often compressing weeks or months of therapeutic work into just a few days. This approach requires additional preparation, in-depth planning, and post-session follow-up that goes beyond what’s typically involved in a standard 50-minute session. Because of the specialized resources, extended availability, and comprehensive support provided before, during, and after an Intensive, the overall cost per hour is set higher than the usual weekly session rate.
  5. If I already have a primary therapist, can I do an Intensive as adjunct therapy?:
    1. Definitely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. If you can sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate as a treatment team to best serve your needs.
  6. Who Is Typically Drawn to Intensives?:
    1. Someone looking for a more efficient and impactful way to address mental health.
    2. A recent event that has left them feeling unsettled or unprotected.
    3. Traditional therapy hasn’t given the outcomes they’ve been seeking.
    4. Someone who’s ready for real change and have grown tired of slow, inconsistent progress.
    5. People with busy schedules as intensives can provide a way to engage in therapy without the logistical challenge of weekly appointments. This is particularly appealing for busy professionals, individuals from remote areas, or those who travel frequently.
  7. Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this type of therapy?:
    1. Clients with a history of psychosis including mania. Clients who do not have emotion regulation skills and respond to distress with self-injurious behaviors. Clients actively misusing/dependent upon substances. Clients with active eating disorder symptoms.
  8. Can my insurance help pay for Therapy Intensives?:
    1. Therapy Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, you can contact your insurance company to see if they may reimburse a portion of the Therapy Intensive.
  9. Can I see you for individual therapy after my intensives?
    1. I do not currently have openings for individual therapy.
  10. Do I have to have therapy experience to do intensive sessions?
    1. No. If you are ready and interested in intensive therapy, we will make sure that you are prepared in your intake session.
  11. Can I still see my individual therapist while having therapy intensives with you?
    1. Of course! We will have you sign a release of information so we can communicate with your therapist as needed.
  12. When is payment due?
    1. To reserve your Therapy Intensive a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.  The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the Intensive Session.
  13. What if I’m interested in a Therapy Intensive but I’m not 100% sure?
    1. Let’s schedule a time for a phone consultation. I’d be glad to set up a 20-minute consult to answer any questions and explore your concerns and individual needs to see if a Therapy Intensive may be helpful for you.  CONTACT ME HERE
